Today is my fourth wedding anniversary. It’s somehow impossible to wrap my head around that. I can’t believe how many amazing, heartbreaking, wonderful, terrifying, joyful, things have happened since that weekend four years ago when we celebrated our partnership with our friends and family.
Tonight, we’ll be quietly celebrating alone in our living room. We might even Netflix and chill. It is a special occasion, after all. Want to take a peek at the space?
I refinished the Pax units from IKEA that we bought secondhand. We bought them to store all of our sports equipment at the old apartment. Now that we have the basement for sports equipment storage, the units store the overflow from our kitchen, extra decor items, and a whole lot more!
The TV stand is a 1930s Marconi radio built in Montreal. My mom found it for Greg at a garage sale for $35 and it still works!
This is the only room in the house that gets great light. Painting the room bright white helps to amplify those much-needed sunbeams. I’m not the only one who loves to soak it up – the dogs spend every daylight hour cuddled on the couches!
The credenza is actually another old stereo. We bought this from a woman who still had all the original documentation! She took pictures of Greg picking it up – she was truly excited that it was going to a new, loving home. We call her The Admiral, just as her previous owners did, and we love her dearly.
There are so many more details to share, but for now I’m off to make a celebratory drink!
